Vincenzo Caricari lives in Calabria (Italy) and his work as director of documentaries and short movies is concentrated on social themes.
From 2012 he is the artistic director of "Riace in Festival". In 2009 he worked as assistant during the making of Wim Wenders movie "Il
volo", based on Riace reality.
In 2016 he made the short film "Rosa";, selected at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival and at Encounters Short Film Festival in Bristol (London), one of the qualifying festivals for the Oscars.
From 2010 he organized in Calabria the casting for "Anime Nere" (“Black souls”), the famous movie of Francesco Munzi winners of nine David of Donatello, during the making of which he worked also as assistant of director.
In 2020 for the film “Il buco” by Michelangelo Frammartino (Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival) he created a scene, which was then inserted in post- production in the final version.
He cooperated with Al Jazeera, Arte, Ard Das Erste, making reportages.
