About Me
Author and Director, Michele Ciardulli has gained experience in various fields of cinema, theater, and communication. He collaborates with national and international production companies, working on both commercial projects and narrative works and documentaries.
His major commercial collaborations include Sony Music Italia, Hilti, Fondazione Giorgio Pardi, the UN, Mus-e Italia Onlus, Amnesty International, Endemol Shine Italia, Extra, Exenmedia, Wow Factory, Lotus Production, Metavisioni, Scrix, and Exformat.
He trained at the Alta Scuola Accademia Internazionale, organized by Protei C. Progetti Teatrali Internazionali in collaboration with the GITIS of Moscow, where he earned a diploma in directing and pedagogy. His career began in theater as a set designer before transitioning to directing. He was Co-Director of Teatro Portland in Trento and was selected in 2014 for the Fringe della Regia in Milan, ranking among the top seven emerging directors. He has directed numerous productions and written plays for both adults and young audiences.
In cinema, he started his career with Cinemaindipendente.it, working on the production of Come prima by Mirko Locatelli, starring Giuseppe Cederna. He later produced and co-directed with Manuele Mandolesi the short film Ora di chiusura, which won the Best Directing Award at the Palermo Film Festival and was a finalist in the Inventa un Film competition in Rome. In 2010, he produced and directed the pilot episode of the Painted Back project, a finalist in the Fiction Film Festival in the new proposals section.
In 2015, he worked as an assistant director for the film Amo la tempesta by Maurizio Losi. In 2021, his project Tales From the Real World reached the finals of the SIAE competition for animated works, while in 2022, his project Shame was among the seven finalists for the Solinas Experimenta Series Award.
His documentary Aftershok - La terra trema, produced in collaboration with Twotake, won the Best Medium-Length Documentary Award at the Inventa un Film Festival. The short film Di Padre in Figlio received a special mention at the Religion Today Film Festival and was a finalist at the Life Beyond Life Festival. His short film Ogni maledetta estate received a special mention at the Ponza Film Festival and won Best Italian Short Film at the Night of Comedy Shorts.
Currently, he has become a partner at NUVOLA S.r.l., developing formats and concepts for film, series, and TV production.
He also works on contemporary art projects in collaboration with major museums such as Mart in Rovereto, Muse and Castello del Buonconsiglio in Trento, the Archaeological Museum of Olbia, Palazzo Reale, and Casa della Memoria in Milan, in addition to curating personal and collective exhibitions.
