Hello
Leonardo Buttaroni
About Me
(Director, Actor, and Author)
Leonardo Buttaroni is a director, actor, and playwright with over twenty years of experience in the performing arts. His career began on stage in 1993 as an actor, later evolving into directing and writing, fields in which he has distinguished himself for his originality and versatility.
He has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the greatest names in Italian theater, including Monica Guerritore, assisting her as a director in L’Anima Buona del Sezuan, and Glauco Mauri, in the national tour of Edipo a Colono. These experiences have helped him refine his directorial style, characterized by a keen attention to narrative construction and a balance between irony and depth.
As a director, he has directed and adapted numerous successful productions, including "I 39 scalini", based on Alfred Hitchcock's famous film and winner of the Premio Cerami, as well as the acclaimed comedies "Walking Dead Comedy", "Shake in Comedy", and "Dracula Crazy Reading". His work is distinguished by a unique ability to reinterpret classic texts in a modern key, making them accessible to a broad audience without ever betraying their essence.
Alongside his artistic career, he is dedicated to theatrical education, collaborating with schools, cultural associations, and educational institutions. He has taught acting and directing in various academies and participated in educational projects such as Grottaferrata a colori, aimed at introducing young people to the language of cinema.
His passion for theater and his tireless artistic research have made him a reference point in the Italian theater scene, capable of blending tradition and innovation in every one of his works.
