About Me
Ricard Mamblona is a filmmaker and holds a PhD in Communication. He is a professor of documentary filmmaking, sociology of communication, and film production and directing at CESAG (Palma, Spain), where he combines teaching with audiovisual creation and research in the field of documentary and non-fiction.
Among his documentary works are Anthology of Chance, a poetic exploration of the creative process of five filmmakers from the Balearic Islands; Behind the Window, which recovers the silenced memory of juvenile detention centers during the Franco regime; and The Round Triangle, an ethical and emotional immersion into the world of living organ transplants.
His most recent feature-length film, ARI – A Story of Love and Life, an intimate portrayal of illness, struggle, and hope, has received awards at numerous national and international film festivals. Mamblona is the director of DOCME Films, a production company specialized in documentaries with an educational and social focus. His authorial voice is marked by a deep sensitivity toward his subjects and a carefully crafted exploratory narrative style. He conceives documentary as a tool for memory, beauty, and social transformation.
